The Neosho County Commission approved contracts to replace and upgrade county computer hardware and software as part of an effort to move systems to Windows 11.
County staff presented a quote (no. 49776) from Vantage computers for $48,068 covering new AMD servers, PC hardware, 40 Microsoft Office 2024 suites and six Microsoft Access licenses. Staff said the work would include building the machines off‑site and bringing them to county offices when ready; travel charges were not included in the written quote but were noted as a separate line-item consideration.
Commissioners discussed timing and availability, noting vendor lead times and component availability could affect the schedule. Staff said some county laptops were newer and would not need replacement, while some department computers dated from 2017–2019 and would be replaced. The motion to purchase the hardware and software suite from Vantage carried by voice vote.
Staff said the project must be completed before an unspecified statutory deadline affecting support for older Windows versions and that coordination with departments would be necessary for deployment scheduling. Commissioners asked staff to keep them informed on vendor timing and rollout plans.
