Board hears update from MCCIC on Fairfield senior housing: painting, repairs and waiting list

She told commissioners the nonprofit is preparing to repaint interior units — the last full painting was in 2001 — and has issued two bids and will publish a public bidding notice in keeping with county procurement rules. The board described a waiting list of about 17 people and said turnover is typically slow; the nonprofit reported several recent maintenance projects, new refrigerators and walk-in shower installations for accessibility.
Morgan said the nonprofit is working with local volunteers and the high school to complete exterior work, repairs to stairs and parking re-striping, laundry-room repainting and other smaller upgrades. She said the organization has sought a small grant request to support painting and had spoken with county staff about available grant sources.
