Commissioners approve broadband, security and contracting measures; ratify policy letters

The Rio Blanco County Board of Commissioners approved a package of purchases, contracts and resolutions at its April 8 meeting in Meeker and on a virtual link, including technology upgrades for county buildings, broadband subscription software, and a $892,869 chip-seal contract. Commissioners also ratified several policy letters on state and regional issues and confirmed an appointment to a regional transportation board. All motions passed on roll-call votes.

The bulk of the hardware and software spending was for county technology infrastructure. Commissioners approved a purchase of security door-access equipment, software and licensing from Stone Security (via an OMNIA cooperative contract) not to exceed $63,806, and a separate purchase for GPON LAN replacement equipment and licensing in an amount not to exceed $279,491.68. They also approved a cloud-based subscriber management (billing/operations) agreement for the Rio Blanco County broadband system with Filnar Services.
