The Clay County Board of County Commissioners approved renewal of MT Medical Florida LLC's certificate of public convenience and necessity (COPCN) for ambulance service following a public hearing April 8.
Chief Jason Boyer of Clay County Fire Rescue opened the public hearing and presented the ordinance criteria that guide COPCN reviews, noting the county medical director had reviewed the applicant's medical protocols and provided a letter of approval. The office of management and budget also reviewed financial aspects of the application and offered analysis to the board.
The public hearing concluded with no members of the public speaking. Based on the fire chief's recommendation and the written approvals from the county medical director and other reviewers, the board moved to approve the renewal. The motion passed with an affirmative vote from the commissioners.
