Subcommittee closes Division of Minerals account; staff recommendations adopted

CARSON CITY — The subcommittee closed the Nevada Division of Minerals budget account (Commission on Mineral Resources, account 1014219) and adopted fiscal staff's recommended other closing items.
Justin Luna, fiscal analyst, Legislative Counsel Bureau, presented the Division of Minerals account and noted the division is governed by the Commission on Mineral Resources, performs policy and advisory functions, and is principally funded through fees collected from the mining industry. Fiscal staff reported there were no major closing issues but nine other closing items, including a new GIS position request and one vehicle purchase timing adjustment; one closing item was contingent upon passage of enabling legislation.
The subcommittee adopted staff recommendations to close other closing items 1 through 5 as recommended by the governor; item 6 contingent on enabling legislation; and items 7 through 9 with technical adjustments. The subcommittee granted staff authority to make technical adjustments as necessary. Motions were adopted by voice vote; no roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the transcript.
