Family Preservation Center credits ARPA funding for new Adams County services hub

Staff at the Family Preservation Center described a recent tour for Adams County Commissioners that showcased new programming and space paid for with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars.
"It was a really lovely day being able to take some Adams County Commissioners on a tour of our family preservation center," Staff member 1, a staff member at the Family Preservation Center, said. "We were taking them on a tour to show them all of the awesome programming that we have been able to start here at the Family Preservation Center with their generous donation of the ARPA dollars that we were able to utilize to fund and build this space."
The center said the facility provides wraparound services meant to support families and youth in Adams County. "I think this is an amazing resource to help our families in Adams County with wrap around services, keeping our families whole, and helping them grow together to be happier families and increase their quality of life here in Adams County," Staff member 2, a staff member at the Family Preservation Center, said. "Modern life in 2025 is not easy for any family, and we all need help, and this is a great place to come receive that."
Staff described specific features of the building intended to meet immediate needs: a food pantry, therapeutic services, and a teen hangout area equipped with kitchen equipment and a washer and dryer. "This building is so beautiful. It's welcoming, and anyone who walks in the door is gonna feel that their needs can be met here. From access to the food pantry to therapeutic services, it really is beautiful to see," Staff member 3, a staff member at the Family Preservation Center, said. "I love the teen hangout space that included kitchen equipment as well as a washer and dryer."
Staff also emphasized the center's role in local behavioral health and safety nets. "Organizations like this are so critical so that everyone who lives here feels that they have access to safety and behavioral health care that takes their needs and their individual existence seriously," Staff member 3 said.
A staff member closed by noting pride in the partnership with county government: "I am just really proud to be part of Adams County, be part of a group of people and an organization that supports work like this," Staff member 2 said.
