Representatives for Oldcastle/United Companies described the company's environmental compliance program, citing air- and water-quality monitoring, dust-control equipment and internal audits. "We will continue to stand by these standards with these new sites," a company representative said.
Planning staff reported that United Companies requested copies of existing permits to confirm compliance with permit conditions and that staff found the company receptive and cooperative during pre-transfer discussions. The board approved the three CUP transfers by roll call; the Macumber Hill pit was explicitly excluded from the transfer and remains with Aerie.
