Council recommends positive endorsements for 86 liquor‑license renewals; no objections reported

Springfield city staff recommended that the council provide positive endorsements to the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) for the annual liquor license renewal period 2025–26, and councilors approved the recommendation by roll call vote.
Robin Holman of the city’s community development division told council that OLCC provided a list of 86 businesses anticipated for renewal and that the renewals are governed by Springfield Municipal Code sections 7.3 through 7.304. Holman said the police department’s summary report showed call volumes were down compared to the same period last year and that no other concerns had been raised in the staff report.
Councilor motioned to forward a recommendation to the OLCC; after a brief roll call the motion passed 6–0.
Holman noted that OLCC’s list may include businesses that have since closed; staff explained that those businesses can contact OLCC to cancel licenses as needed.
