Timberlane student representative summarizes spring activities across district

Abby Robinson, the Timberlane Regional School District student school board representative, provided a district-wide update on spring activities on April 5. Robinson summarized events at the high school, middle school and elementary schools, noting recent testing, sports, concerts, fundraisers and forthcoming performances.

Robinson said the Youth Risk Behavioral Survey was administered to high school students during block two and that juniors completed SAT testing last Thursday; Science state testing was held the following Friday. Spring sports have begun with scrimmages and early matches; Robinson noted the girls’ tennis team will play Hollis-Brookline at 4 p.m. on Friday at the new tennis courts, which will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and food.

Robinson reported on several school events: a “Paying for College” night for senior families; the annual World’s Fair, where Rho Kappa students presented on historical empires; and the third annual Spring Craft Fair hosted by the Class of 2026 on April 5. She said the craft fair sold out the cafeteria and included vendors such as Happy Coffee by Chris Tardiff, henna art, pastries and raffles.

At Timberlane Regional Middle School, students participated in Readapalooza and a step aerobics unit in physical education. The middle school’s Rocket Club launched student-built rockets, and coed volleyball concluded with more than 30 participants. Robinson also reported that celebrity chef Bobby Marcotte judged a cooking competition at TRMS; she said the Tigers won first place with a barbecued fried chicken and waffle sandwich.

Atkinson Academy held a successful lip-sync event and will host a visit from the Tiger Leadership Group for a whole-school assembly on April 16 featuring a program called “True Blue You.” Preschool and pre-K parent information night is also scheduled for April 16. Danville School held a fifth- and seventh-grade band concert on March 26 and will administer NH SAS science tests to fifth graders on April 9.

Sandown North concluded an American Heart Association fundraiser that raised $3,720, Robinson said. Girls on the Run began at Sandown with 24 participants. Robinson also noted PTA events and that fourth graders will take a State House trip later in the week.

Robinson’s update covered school activities, testing schedules and extracurricular events; no district policy changes, votes or formal actions were reported during the update.
