VANDALIA, Ohio — City Manager Althouse announced service and event details during the April 7 City Council meeting.
Income tax assistance: The income tax office will offer extended hours to help residents prepare city income tax returns: Saturday, April 12, 8 a.m.–noon; Monday, April 14, 7:30 a.m.–6 p.m.; and Tuesday, April 15 (deadline), 7:30 a.m.–6 p.m. The filing deadline is Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Large debris drop‑off: Vandalia residents may use the Public Works Garage for free large-debris drop-off on April 12 from 8 a.m.–2 p.m.; proof of residency is required.
Community event: The Vandalia Easter Extravaganza will be held Saturday, April 19, at the Vandalia Sports Complex (soccer field side) from 11 a.m.–2 p.m., with egg hunts at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for children 12 and under, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, vendors, face painting and food trucks. Attendees were asked to bring baskets for the egg hunts.
Facility closure: The Vandalia Recreation Center will be closed Sunday, April 20 for Easter and will resume normal hours Monday, April 21.
