“Each year, the state publishes a TAPR for every campus and district across the state,” the district presenter said, and the board was told that the TAPR “pulls together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school district in Texas annually,” including disaggregated performance by student group and staff and demographic data.
The presenter cited Texas Education Code 39.362 as the statutory basis for the hearing and the requirement that the district post the TAPR on the Forney ISD website. After the presentation the board asked no questions and there were no public questions; a trustee moved to close the public hearing and the board carried that motion by voice vote.
The TAPR remains posted on the district website for each campus and the district indicated it will follow the statutorily required posting and public‑hearing process.
Why it matters: The TAPR compiles accountability and performance data that district officials, trustees and the public use to review campus and district academic outcomes. Holding a public hearing is a state requirement tied to transparency about those results.
