Kalispell council approves multiple permits, grants and financing steps; postpones regional hazard plan

Kalispell City Council members on April 7 approved a series of consent and action items including conduit revenue bonds for Emmanuel Lutheran, a conditional-use permit for an assisted-living facility expansion, final plat approval for a subdivision, and city sponsorship of two grant applications — while voting to postpone adoption of the Western Montana Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan for additional local review.

The actions move several projects forward and preserve grant eligibility for others. Council members approved: issuance of conduit revenue bonds for Emmanuel Lutheran’s Buffalo Hill campus refinancing and improvements; a conditional-use permit for Renaissance Senior Care to expand an assisted-living facility at 645 Liberty Street; final plat approval and a subdivision improvement agreement for Timber Wolf Ridge Phase 1; city sponsorship for a DNRC nonpoint-source grant application for the Morning Star Community infrastructure project; and submission of an MDT Transportation Alternatives grant application for the southern portion of the Sunset Boulevard (U.S. 93) shared-use path.
