Edmond school board swears in new member and reorganizes leadership

Marcus Jones was sworn in as a member of the Board of Education of Edmond Independent School District No. 12, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, during the board’s regular meeting. Jones took the oath of office and pledged to “faithfully discharge all duties pertaining to said office,” as read into the record by the board clerk.
Following the swearing-in, the board took up reorganizing its leadership. Trustee Courtney Hopgood was nominated and approved as board president and Jamie Underwood was approved as vice president after a motion and second. The reorganization vote passed by voice roll call with trustees registering their assent.
Board members then continued with superintendent comments and the rest of the published agenda.
