The Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners on April 7 approved an amendment to the county's memorandum of agreement governing opioid settlement funds to reflect awards under its evidence-based addiction-treatment strategy.
County staff said the total allocation across the county's five opioid-settlement strategies remains $1,435,903. The staff issued a request for proposals and recommended two awardees for the evidence-based treatment strategy: Rocky Mount Treatment Center and Freedom Hill Community Health Center. The board voted to approve the amendment naming those entities.
County staff described the RFP process as a competitive procurement in which proposals were reviewed by staff and recommended for funding based on eligibility and program fit. The amendment documents the awardees and retains the county's overall allocation for the settlement funds.
A commissioner asked for the location of Rocky Mount Treatment Center; staff said additional provider details could be provided.
