Mayor Scott Singer issued a proclamation declaring April 2025 Fair Housing Month in Boca Raton during the council workshop. The proclamation cited the federal Fair Housing Act (Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968) and called on residents to rededicate themselves to equal housing opportunity in honor of the law’s anniversary.
Roger Jackson, testing coordinator/investigator with the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County’s Fair Housing Project, accepted the proclamation and thanked the city for the recognition. Jackson said the Legal Aid Society remains committed to education, resources and advocacy to help ensure equitable access to housing across Palm Beach County.
No council action was required beyond the proclamation and a photo opportunity with councilmembers.
