Brooksville council votes to negotiate hire of Lisa Hendrickson as city manager

The City of Brooksville city council on April 7 voted to proceed to contract negotiations to hire Lisa Hendrickson as city manager and assigned a council member to work with the city attorney on the terms.
Council members interviewed three finalists in a public process that included a Saturday interview session and private breakout conversations. Following the interviews, council members used ballots. The clerk reported four council votes for Hendrickson and one vote for another finalist, Richard Weeks. Following that tally, a motion to proceed with hiring negotiations for Lisa Hendrickson was made, seconded and passed by roll call vote 5–0.
Council then designated a council member to work with the city attorney to negotiate the employment agreement. The council chose Councilmember Hallau (the clerk recorded the designation) to lead negotiations with the city attorney and the candidate. The motion to designate the negotiating councilmember passed without opposition.
Mayor Tanner thanked the applicants and staff for the recruitment process. Several council members praised the internal staff who served in interim roles while the city conducted its search and acknowledged their continued service during the transition.
The council directed the negotiating team to return an employment agreement to the full council for final approval.
