The Committee on Commerce and Labor reported back with a recommendation to pass Senate Bills 344 and 370, signed by Senator Julie Pizzina as chair. The Committee on Judiciary reported back on Senate Bill 263 with a recommendation to pass, signed by Senator Melanie Scheibel.
Senator Nicole Cannizzaro requested and was granted a waiver relating to BDR 15-10-38 (listed as SB 457 on the floor) to waive specified subsections of joint standing rule 14.2 and 14.3; the waiver was effective April 7, 2025. The Fiscal Analysis Division, represented in the record by Wayne Thorely, determined eligibility for exemption for Senate Bills 142 and 199.
On introductions and first reading: SB 457 was introduced by the Senate Committee on Judiciary and described as revising provisions relating to public safety. SB 458, introduced to the floor by the Senate Committee on Finance, makes a supplemental appropriation to the Office of the Secretary of State for an unanticipated shortfall related to travel, operating and information services expenses.

The Senate concluded the legislative day with a motion from Senator Cannizzaro that the Senate adjourn until 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025; the motion carried and the Senate adjourned.
