County IT recommends annual renewal of Laserfiche document management licensing

Chief Information Officer Gary Koontz briefed the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners on a resolution to renew the county's Laserfiche document management subscription. Koontz said staff reviewed multi-year and annual renewal pricing and found a three-year renewal would cost more in the first year than an annual renewal. "We initially was looking at doing a 3 year renewal, and believe it or not, the 3 year renewals, even year 1 was more expensive than annual renewals," Koontz said. He recommended proceeding with annual renewals and said staff would return with the resolution for the board's consideration.
No questions or objections were raised at the briefing; staff said the item will be on the upcoming agenda for formal action.
