County IT staff told commissioners the meeting-room TV installation and cabling are nearly complete and that microphones and camera equipment have been ordered. IT Specialist Travis said termination and testing are scheduled this week and staff expect training for county staff so the new system can be used by the next meeting.
The meeting-room power-cord placement was discussed; staff is obtaining pricing to install power outlets under the meeting table to reduce trip hazards. Travis said the county purchased the camera and microphone equipment under an approved purchase order and that the project will proceed to cable-pulling and installation.
Commissioners agreed to repurpose the county’s existing television for the sheriff’s emergency operations center to display camera feeds and operational information.
Separately, staff provided a status update on the old courthouse. A pest survey completed in 2010 has been located; commissioners were told the basement has visible mold and that two pest-control companies will revisit the site. Staff said they would request an update from the contractor and provide a schedule for remediation steps as they become available.
No formal action was taken; commissioners requested cost estimates for floor power outlets and regular updates on installation and courthouse remediation.
