County Attorney Beaman reported that the Board of County Commissioners met in closed session on March 20 to discuss three items, and summarized the outcomes for the public record.
Beaman said the commissioners discussed a proposal from a business seeking to locate in Allegany County and, by a two–zero vote with one commissioner abstaining, authorized County Administrator Bennett and County Attorney Beaman to negotiate favorable terms for a lease agreement on the county’s behalf.
A second distinct business proposal was discussed in closed session, Beaman said; he reported no decisions or votes were taken on that item. The third item concerned collective bargaining negotiations with FOP Local 144. Beaman said commissioners authorized him to continue negotiations on the county’s behalf during the collective bargaining process.
Beaman closed his public summary by noting the meeting adjourned at 2:29 p.m. and that the described actions were the extent of formal authority granted in the closed session report to the public record.
