Daggett County Commission approves routine licenses, contracts, grants and permits

Daggett County Commissioners on an open‑session agenda approved a slate of routine licenses, contracts and funding allocations, including two business licenses, a cemetery ownership transfer and several administrative agreements.
The commission approved new or renewed business licenses for Manila Small Engine and applicant Darren Bocut; it also voted to transfer cemetery affidavit ownership for Section 17, Lot 9, Graves 1–6 from Paul Hayes to Deanna Hayes. Commissioners approved a signed letter that will dissolve the memorandum of understanding between Daggett County and the Flaming Gorge Chamber of Commerce (MOU effective Jan. 1, 2020). The commission also approved making $30,000 available through a CEOAB regranting process (three awards of $10,000 each to eligible applicants), subject to contract development and attorney review.
The commission gave final approval to the county's one‑year project list submitted to the Permanent Community Impact Board (CIB), keeping property acquisition first in priority and listing rodeo grounds improvements, bike/pedestrian path, a ski-resort NEPA study, jail and shooting range improvements, airport improvements, Dutch John water distribution improvements and sewer collection as other ranked projects. The board conditionally approved amendment No. 1 to the State of Utah Administrative Office of the Courts contract No. 242276 through June 30, 2026, contingent on attorney review.
In other votes, the commission adopted Resolution 25‑08 supporting America250 Utah and authorizing formation of a Daggett County America250 community committee; it approved a single‑event alcohol permit for a Trout Unlimited event at Flaming Gorge Resort and authorized a $1,000 sponsorship/donation for that event; and it approved a special training reimbursement agreement to fund CDL training for road department employees with a prorated repayment clause if the employee quits or is terminated within an agreed timeframe.
Many of the motions passed by voice vote with unanimous "aye" responses recorded on the transcript; specific roll‑call tallies with member names were not read into the record.
The approvals include several items noted as conditional on legal review: the CEOAB regranting contract(s) and the courts contract amendment were both approved pending review by the county attorney, who the minutes indicate will confirm there are no legal issues before final execution.
