Forest Park chief of staff reports 18 repair contracts signed under second phase of home program

Miss Warrior, Forest Park chief of staff, updated Ward 1 on the city’s second phase of its home repair program. She said the application period ran from November to December and that the program has executed 18 repair contracts to date.
Warrior said the contracted repairs include bathroom and shower installations, gutter replacements and other renovations. She contrasted the second phase, which covers residents ages 18 to 61, with the first phase a year earlier that focused on “legacy” residents age 62 and older.
Warrior said the program has received positive feedback from participating residents and thanked city staff and Councilmember Kimberly James for the program’s development. She did not provide total program funding, contract dollar amounts or contractor names at the Ward meeting.
Officials said additional program details will be shared at the next meeting when more grants or contracts are ready to be disclosed.
