Forest Park economic development announces URA boundary review, Elevate workforce program and Main Street events

Rochelle Dennis, Main Street manager for the Office of Economic Development, told Ward 1 residents the city is working with its Urban Redevelopment Agency to update the URA boundary and identify catalytic redevelopment sites.
Dennis said the city is launching a workforce development initiative called Elevate, with a facility grand opening planned and a joint job fair in the August timeframe in partnership with the HR department. She asked residents to watch for more program details and said a meet‑the‑team event will follow the grand opening.
The Office of Economic Development is also finalizing a department logo and marketing materials tied to a broader city website redesign. Dennis said Forest Park is an official Main Street program — the city’s Main Street branded calendar of community events was placed on ward meeting tables — and the department is preparing a Main Street logo reveal.
Dennis reviewed upcoming events the department is coordinating and promoting: a St. Patrick’s Day fountain party that kicked off the season, Food Truck Friday (with a Longest Table community dinner), a Food and Wine festival at the fountain and other cultural programming. She invited residents to scan the QR code on the printed calendar to receive event updates.
Deputy Director Ms. Lewis of Human Resources gave a separate briefing on city job openings and directed residents to www.forestparkga.gov for a full list of positions and application instructions.
