Rogers County commissioners approved an interlocal agreement to provide law enforcement services to the Town of Foyil.
Under the agreement, the county will provide two additional patrols per shift for the town at a rate of $50 per hour. County staff presented the estimate of just over $18,000 annually for the additional patrol coverage and said the Sheriff's Office can incorporate the service into its patrol schedule. Staff emphasized that the Sheriff's Office is not a revenue generator and that the agreement is intended to provide public-safety coverage and allow problem solving under local ordinances when needed.
The mayor of Foyil addressed the board briefly to thank commissioners. Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried.
Staff assigned to the Sheriff's Office will implement the interlocal agreement and coordinate scheduling with the town.
