Rogers County emergency management staff updated commissioners on pending FEMA disaster claims and the county's safe-room reimbursement program.
Staff said FEMA had not yet delivered a determination memo on two items under review and that letters indicating possible ineligible determinations had been issued; staff reported they had received an automated system message from FEMA saying an extension filing was needed, but that staff had already submitted one. The county indicated it is pursuing further communications with FEMA to clarify eligibility determinations.
Separately, emergency management staff said the safe-room program is continuing and that the county is waiting on additional state funds to reimburse more applicants. Staff also reported ongoing debris and limb removal efforts following storms.
Commissioners asked for more numbers and staff said they would provide updated figures in follow-up reports.
