District receives certificate of occupancy for new stadium bleachers; seating expanded to 660

Facilities staff updated the board on April 3 that the district has received a certificate of occupancy for the new bleacher installation at the turf field and has opened the seating to spectators.
Ms. Layman reported the new structure increases seating from an estimated 100to150 prior seats to roughly 660 spectator seats. The top-view photos shared with the committee show continuous aisles, handrails, dedicated handicap seating in the front row and improved walkways and stair access on each end. The presenter said final pavement painting and an entryway finish are expected to be completed in the following weeks.
Board members praised the accessibility improvements and the project team for completing the installation. No formal vote was required or taken; the presentation served as an informational facilities update.
The facilities committee said the bleacher pad, handrails and accessible seating were incorporated to improve sightlines and to allow those with physical challenges to reach seating more easily. The work follows the districts multi-year athletic-facilities project and will affect home-event spectator capacity immediately.
Implementation notes: the presenter said some final site work (pavement painting and entry-area finishes) will be completed over the next several weeks; the certificate of occupancy was issued earlier in the week and spectators are permitted on the new bleachers.
