The Richardson ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved a nomination for Trustee Regina Harris to serve as the district’s representative at the regional/state board forum, trustees said at the April meeting.
Board members described Harris’ experience representing the district in statewide and regional settings and several colleagues spoke in support before the vote. Harris told trustees she was honored by the nomination and said she would accept the responsibility.
Trustees voted 7–0 to confirm the nomination. The district did not adopt any additional actions tied to the appointment at the meeting.
Why it matters: District representation at regional and state trustee forums provides a channel for local perspectives on proposed legislation, funding formulas and statewide policy. Trustees said they expect Harris to report back on regional discussions and legislative developments.
Next steps: Harris will attend the regional delegates’ meetings and provide updates to the board; no compensation changes or other administrative actions were announced.
