CSU reports progress on Title IX compliance: staffing increases and audit work largely completed

Lim told the committee that, following the auditor’s report, the system created the Office for Civil Rights Programming and Services and expanded the Title IX team from five to 15 employees, providing “direct access to a civil rights attorney and specialist” for each campus. He said 15 of the auditor’s 16 recommendations have been completed and that the remaining recommendation — implementing an enterprise case management system — is in progress with an expected completion date of July 2026.
Lim emphasized prevention and training in addition to investigations and said campuses now publish statistics and program reviews to enhance transparency. Committee members asked about the program’s budget needs and whether federal Title IX enforcement changes would affect system operations; Lim said the system will continue to comply with state and federal nondiscrimination law and noted staffing and resources remain essential to timely responses.
