City reports upcoming fall events, smoke-alarm installs and parade registrations

Staff reported a Rock and Gem show at the recreation center (Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.–4 p.m.), a trunk-or-treat event at the ice rink on Friday, Oct. 24, and family offerings at the farmer’s market including a trunk-or-treat event. Staff said a smoke-alarm installation program had recently installed 22 smoke alarms in 11 houses on Sunset. The city’s new ladder truck was reported to be undergoing final inspection in Wisconsin.
The council’s community representatives also said the Christmas parade registration (theme: “Welcome to the North Pole”) is open for Dec. 6 and that 23 registrants were recorded at the time of the meeting; organizers encouraged additional bands and entries. No formal votes were associated with these reports; they were presented for information.
