The presenter highlighted family engagement and student outcomes: 100% of families completed partnership agreements, 90% of participating families completed assessments, and staff reported gains in literacy, cognition and social‑emotional development. As an example of growth, social‑emotional readiness for kindergarten was reported at 68% at the beginning of the year and 89% by the end.
Board members asked about representation on the Head Start policy council. Staff said one board member serves as the voting member on the policy council, and other board members may attend as nonvoting participants. Staff said funding flows through the federal portal and that needed funding for the year appears secure.
