Waxahachie ISD board approves Ryan Cavazos as Global High School principal

District leaders recommended Dr. Cavazos to the board, saying he has worked in the district for the past 10 years in assistant principal and principal roles. The presenter told the board, “His leadership has consistently reflected a deep commitment to academic excellence, student well-being, and staff collaboration.”
After the motion, Missus Timmerman moved to approve the recommendation and Missus Creel seconded. The board chair called the vote: “All in favor, say aye.” The clerk recorded the motion as carrying 6-0.
After the vote Dr. Ryan Cavazos addressed the board, thanking leadership. “Just quickly, I wanted to thank Miss McCutcheon and the board, for another opportunity, and also, Mister Zayd, for having faith in me to do it,” he said.
The board removed a separate agenda item to hire a director of fine arts and proceeded with the principal hire as presented. No further discussion or conditions were recorded in the minutes.
