Accelerate Jackson County updates board on rebrand, new city contract and manufacturing event

Accelerate Jackson County briefed the Jackson County General Government Committee on ongoing economic development work and outreach, including a rebrand, new contract with the city of Jackson and an upcoming Manufacturing Day event.
Debbie, a representative of Accelerate Jackson County, told the committee the organization has completed a rebrand from its earlier enterprise group identity and has updated office signage and materials. She said the group posted a part-time position to assist with CRM and site-and-buildings database data entry and invited committee members to visit the office.

Debbie said the office’s business-retention effort has more than 50 visits scheduled, led by staff member Emily Weaver. She credited County Administrator Keith with rebuilding relations that produced an economic development services contract with the city of Jackson.
Debbie told the committee Accelerate Jackson has been doing podcasts in partnership with the Jackson Area Manufacturers Association and is promoting an Accelerate 2030 capital campaign that will begin Jan. 1, 2026. She said staff attended SelectUSA, the National Brownfields Conference, the International Economic Development Council conference and a Transatlantic Business Investors conference where Jackson County received a certification as an “FDI‑ready community.”
On events and projects, Debbie said Accelerate Jackson is organizing a Manufacturing Day trade show at the American 1 Event Center scheduled for Sept. 24 through Sept. 26, with a public day on Sept. 25 and a student showcase for 11th- and 12th-grade students on Sept. 26. She said staff are working with partners and towns, responding to requests for information and continuing due diligence on the Parma LDFA property, including appraisals and wetland assessment.
Debbie said the office is assisting with a housing coalition and hosting outreach with township and village leaders to secure investor support for county initiatives. She closed by saying Accelerate Jackson will send the committee its semiannual written report for members to review and invited questions.
No committee action was taken on the presentation; Pulaski and other commissioners asked questions about scheduling conflicts with a housing coalition meeting and a grand opening for a local housing project.
