Spring Independent School District trustees voted to approve a contract amendment with Emerge Fellowship on Oct. 7, continuing the district’s partnership with the nonprofit that provides intensive college-application support for high-achieving students.
The amendment was approved by a unanimous roll call after public comments from Emerge staff, students and parents who described college visits, mentor relationships and application support the program provides. Trustee Tristan Adams moved approval; Trustee Correa seconded. Trustee Adams and several colleagues said they supported the program but asked administration to produce clearer outcome and return-on-investment measures that can be compared against district-run services.
