Eagan sworn-in newly promoted police sergeant David Streiflin

The Eagan City Council recognized and administered the oath of office to newly promoted Police Sergeant David Streiflin during its March 18 meeting.
Police leadership and the mayor praised Streiflin's experience and community work. Police Chief Neu said Streiflin serves on the SWAT team, has worked as a field training officer and use-of-force instructor, and helps lead youth firearm-safety and active-shooter training sessions for businesses, churches and schools.
Chief Neu thanked Streiflin's family for their support and noted recent public-safety teamwork in which local firefighters and police helped save the life of a 3-year-old following a call the previous afternoon. "We are fortunate to have people like Dave Streiflin take the reins of leadership here in the community," Chief Neu said.
At the ceremony Streiflin recited the oath to "support the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Minnesota, and to faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of sergeant for the Eagan Police Department," concluding "so help me God." The council and staff offered brief remarks of appreciation, and the meeting then moved on to the consent agenda.
