Commissioners approve South Reynolds TIF expansion to support Global Harvest expansion

White County commissioners on March 18 approved a resolution adopting the South Reynolds Economic Development Area declaratory resolution and TIF expansion related to the Global Harvest facility.
County staff told commissioners the redevelopment commission had already approved a declaratory resolution on March 10, finding the plan conforms to the county’s plan of development. The commissioners’ vote advances the TIF resolution and allows the redevelopment commission to hold a public hearing later this month as the final stage of the application.
Staff and board members said the TIF proceeds are intended to reimburse infrastructure costs tied to Global Harvest’s expansion, including extension of water and sewer lines and roadway improvements at Meridian and 100 South near a railroad crossing. County staff noted the company removed an on‑site septic system and well during expansion and that the connections will create a new utility user for the town of Reynolds.
The board moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by voice vote. County staff said the redevelopment commission will hold the public hearing on March 31, after which the application process will continue. Commissioners and staff said the TIF is meant to reimburse eligible infrastructure costs — including water/sewer extensions — and to support safety and access improvements being coordinated with the railroad and INDOT.
