St. Joseph County Council unanimously passed Bill 11-25, an ordinance appropriating and transferring funds for several county departments.
The clerk read the ordinance as “An ordinance appropriating and transferring monies for the purpose inherent herein specified for the several departments herein listed of the St. Joseph County government.” The council noted fiscal matters had been considered in a February 2024 committee meeting and moved directly to public comment for the ordinance’s parts A through G.
No members of the public spoke for or against the bill during the public hearing. Councilman Figg moved to approve the ordinance and Councilwoman Shabazz seconded. The clerk took roll call; the council recorded nine yes votes and no dissent. President Schoetzle (as recorded at roll call) announced the motion passed 9-0.
The ordinance was recorded as approved and will be implemented according to the appropriation language in the bill; no additional public discussion or amendments were recorded at the meeting.
