The Orderville Town Board voted unanimously to approve a conditional use permit allowing operation of a short-term rental at 121 West 100 South, known in the application as “Coby Chateau.”
Board members said the applicant met zoning and parking requirements and that the building is undergoing necessary building permits and inspections. A council member noted the structure had been ‘‘ripped down to the studs’’ and a bathroom was being added as part of the work; another member said adequate parking was available in the rear of the property.
A motion to approve the conditional use permit was made, seconded and carried with five yes votes and no opposition. One council member stated a potential bias because the applicant is a neighbor but said they would vote yes regardless.
The board did not attach conditions beyond the standard permitting and inspection process discussed at the meeting. Staff noted building permits were in progress and inspections remained outstanding.
Next steps are routine: staff will record the permit decision and continue building-permit inspections until final compliance is verified.
