Clarkston Planning Commission approves minutes, recommends business license for crochet instructor and moves April meeting to April 17

The Clarkston Planning Commission approved its Feb. 13, 2025 minutes, recommended a business license application for Heidi Fawcett to the town council and moved its next regular meeting to the third Thursday in April (April 17).

The commission voted unanimously to approve the minutes from the Feb. 13 meeting. A motion to recommend approval of a business license for Heidi Fawcett — described in the record as a one-on-one crochet lesson business at 290 South Main — was also approved unanimously. Staff told commissioners that the operation is similar to private music lessons and that parking would be limited to one student at a time, so no additional parking requirements were recommended. The commission’s action was to forward a recommendation to the town council for final approval.

Commissioners signed the Clarkston ethical behavior form and the town’s conflict-of-interest policy during the meeting; staff reminded members that those signed pages are posted on the town website and asked to retain signed copies for the file. Commissioners briefly discussed logistics for picking up and filing the back pages of those documents.

The commission also agreed to change its next meeting date from the second Thursday to the third Thursday in April; members recorded the new meeting date as April 17 and approved that calendar change by motion. With no public commenters present, the commission then adjourned the meeting by unanimous voice vote.
