Committee renews payments to Arkansas State Fair and Livestock Show

The Agriculture, Forestry & Economic Development Committee voted to advance a bill sponsored by Senator Steve Crow, District 3, to continue payments to the Arkansas State Fair and Livestock Show.
Crow told the committee the payments have been made since 1995 and “expire in 2025 and we just have to re up it.” He said the payments “comes right off the top and never comes out of RSA.” No members of the public spoke for or against the bill at the hearing.
Senator Crow moved to “pass and pass.” The motion was seconded; the chair called for the ayes and the committee approved the measure by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
The bill will be taken up later in the legislative schedule for further consideration in the normal process.
