Abington officials commend volunteer firefighters, staff for response to large SPS fire

Township Manager Chris Christman and Assistant Manager Ashley McElpaine were both praised for leading the administration’s communications and on‑site coordination, and Chief Malloy and his command staff were commended for their public response. President Hecker said the board is exploring additional formal ways to express gratitude and that commissioners had been in contact with emergency management leaders about future recognition.
