And all we're doing is reclassifying it to prepare it for, hiring at the same level that we did in 2023 with the last person that was hired in our department," said a department representative during the meeting.
Committee member Napoli made the motion to move the bill forward favorably; committee member Hendricks seconded. Chairperson Hanlon called for the voice vote and recorded the ayes. The committee announced that the matter will be considered next by the full Allentown City Council.
The measure affects the information-systems staffing plan and the general fund allocations included in the 2025 budget. The committee discussion did not include a detailed head count or projected long-term personnel costs beyond the two salary figures cited. No amendment or further directions to staff were recorded during the committee action.
