UConn asks bonding subcommittee to preserve UConn 2000 gains, fund research hires and deferred maintenance

UConn President appealed to the Bonding Subcommittee for continued state capital support to sustain and expand the university’s facilities, research capacity and regional campus operations.

In a 10‑minute presentation, President R. noted that UConn’s multi‑campus system now handles nearly 64,000 undergraduate applications, has grown undergraduate enrollment substantially since UConn 2000 began, and runs UConn Health campus operations that serve patients and train clinicians across the state. She said the UConn 2000 program has been the principal tool used to modernize Storrs and UConn Health facilities and to attract research funding and faculty.
