Committee approves bill to exempt small electric vehicles from electric-vehicle supplement fee

Representative Boyd introduced House Bill 1380 to the Senate Transportation Committee and said the measure would exempt motor-driven cycles and electric bicycles from the stateelectric-vehicle supplement registration fee. "This is a simple bill. It has no fiscal impact," Representative Boyd told the committee, adding that only 123 of these vehicles had to register in 2024 and that the vehicles "generally weigh between 25 and 60 pounds and are not allowed on interstate highways."
