Bay County School Board adopts updated district strategic plan

The Bay County School Board on March 24 adopted an updated strategic plan for Bay District Schools following a presentation by Christina Borderline, District Administrator for teaching and learning.
Borderline said the plan was developed through a multi‑tiered process involving district staff, community members and students. "We look forward to being able to approve the strategic plan today to be able to work toward, to prioritize the initiatives that'll allow us to put the A back in bed," Borderline told the board during her presentation.
Board members thanked staff for the work and said the plan will guide budget and policy decisions going forward. Trustees moved and seconded adoption; the roll call recorded members present voting in favor.
What was decided: The board adopted the strategic plan and directed staff to use it to prioritize initiatives and align budget and program decisions in coming months.
Implementation: District staff and the board said they will use the plan to inform the upcoming budget cycle and to track progress on prioritized initiatives. The board noted the plan had undergone community input and that more detailed implementation steps would be brought forward by staff.
