The Board of Zoning Appeals approved March 20 a variance allowing property owner Larry Dimmit at 9150 Fisher Road to keep an existing above‑ground pool installed without permits and to build a carport closer to Fisher Road than the residence.
Dimmit said the property is at the end of a private lane and wooded on three sides; he told the board neighbors had no objections and that the carport will measure roughly 15 feet high with 12‑foot side clearances to accommodate a 12‑ to 12.5‑foot‑tall RV. He also asked about pool‑fence requirements and was informed by staff that a six‑foot impassable fence or equivalent safety measures apply to pools.
No remonstrators appeared. The board voted 5–0 to approve the variance (VAR‑2025‑012). Staff reminded the owner to obtain the building permit for the carport and to meet pool‑safety requirements for above‑ground pools and decks.
The permit process will capture final location and construction details.
