Board recognizes students of the month across district programs, including Ogden High and OTEC

Ogden High: Keita, a senior, was presented as student of the month for academic commitment and resilience after overcoming earlier school challenges; staff noted she is a Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year finalist. Keita spoke briefly and thanked her supporters.
OTEC High / Weaver Technical College: Julie Moran (presented by OTEC staff) described transferring between high schools, completing a customer service class in a shortened timeframe, passing state certification, beginning an internship at McKay Dee, working about 25 hours a week, and nearing completion of a CNA program; presenters praised her rapid progress, improved attendance and grades, and college acceptance at Weber State.
Post High transition program: Branson Nordforce was presented by program staff for progress in workplace skills, independence and participation in unified sports; he thanked a teacher, job coach and his mother and said he hopes to find employment in the community.
Why it matters: the recognitions highlight district pathways — career and technical education, alternative program success, and post‑high transition services — and the board applauded students and staff.
