Commerce committee adopts amendments to House File 1615 and re-refers bill to Ways and Means

Representative Kristin Stevenson moved to re-refer House File 1615 to the committee on Ways and Means after committee members adopted a DE1 amendment and an A1 secondary amendment.
Representative Matt West described the A1 amendment as an agreement with Chair Stevenson to allow hemp manufacturers to participate in markets outside Minnesota with noncompliant products, to allow medically endorsed businesses to sell medical cannabis to other medically endorsed or medical combination businesses, and to strengthen obligations for market participation. Stevenson urged members to support the amendment and said the committee would continue working on the bill as it moves through the process.
The committee adopted the A1 amendment by voice vote and then approved the DE1 as amended. Representative Stevenson renewed his motion to re-refer the bill to Ways and Means; the motion prevailed by voice vote.
