Spring ISD brings EPIC GMP package 2 and annual job-order contracts to board

Spring ISD’s facilities and operations staff presented district capital work items on April 1, asking trustees to approve Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) package 2 for the EPIC project and to renew a set of annual job-order contracts for smaller maintenance and bond-related work.
Director Mark Miranda said GMP package 2 includes structural steel, concrete work, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) components and under-slab pathways for technology at the EPIC site. Staff said they would schedule a ground-breaking celebration and coordinate dates with board members.
Miranda also presented the annual master list of 19 job-order contracts from cooperative procurement partners to support routine maintenance and smaller construction needs during the year. Trustees noted Choice Partners is among the cooperatives. One trustee asked to pull an item from the consent agenda for separate consideration.
What’s next: staff said they will bring the GMP and job-order contract items forward for board action in the consent agenda and coordinate scheduling for the EPIC ground-breaking ceremony.
