The Grants Pass City Council unanimously approved an ordinance vacating the common property lines between tax lots 1100, 1200 and 1300 on Map 36-05-19 DA, clearing the way to consolidate the three parcels into a single building lot.
City staff told the council the property sits along Rogue River Highway where an existing building extends close to, and in one place across, a lot line. Staff said removal of two lot lines is necessary for planned development and for extension of utility lines to a neighboring parcel near Burger King. Staff reported they mailed notice and received no public comments; staff also stated the two approval criteria in the development code can be met.
Councilor Joel moved to approve the ordinance on first reading, with a second from Councilor Victoria. The first-reading roll call vote was unanimous. At second reading Councilor Rick moved approval of title only; the second-reading vote also passed unanimously and the ordinance was read for adoption.
The council packet included a recommended motion and staff report; no public testimony was offered at the hearing. Staff said there is no fiscal impact to the city tied to the vacation. No additional conditions or amendments were recorded during the council discussion.
