Baldwin Park — During the April 2 meeting city staff told the council they had received a late submission from the California Housing Defense Fund challenging a housing-related agenda item scheduled for public hearing. The council voted unanimously to continue the matter to May 7 so staff could review the materials.
City staff announced the challenge during introduction of public hearing item No. 9 and asked for a date-certain continuance. “We received a challenge from a housing interest group. We received this late this afternoon, and… planning staff will need some more additional time to review these before we can move forward with our proposal for an update,” a staff member said.
A councilmember moved to continue the hearing to May 7; the motion was seconded and passed 5-0.
Ending — The item will return to the council on May 7 after staff review of the challenge from the California Housing Defense Fund.
